ceramah

We are organising a ceramah at my area, Teja on 10 Jan. YB Azmin Ali, YB Dr. Lee Boon Chye, YB Keshvinder (DAP), Ust Misbahul Munir (PAS) and myself are speakers.

On many similar occasions, police permit were obtained easily without much problems. However,  when we collect the permit this time round, it’s a big NO from the Ipoh OCPD, ACP Azizman.

According to the letter, he said they “tidak dapat meluluskan permohonan pihak tuan” because the venue is an open place. And he “nasihat” us to hold it in a closed hall.

Bloody hell! Who don’t know that? If I could get a hall, you think I want to spend money putting up tents ar? If the police manage to get us a hall, we are more than willing to change the venue. Moreover, we have organised hundreds of outdoor ceramah, not a single one created any problem.

Anyway, I do not give a damn! The ceramah is on. If you want to come, just come. Listen to speeches, disperse the crowd, or arrest, I leave it to you.

PENGGUNAAN KALIMAH “ALLAH”

In China, Najib is happily hugging the communists and carrying their balls; but in his own country, he conned an old communist who is in his eighties by not allowing him to come home, which is against the Peace Accord signed by both the Malaysian government and the Communist Party of Malaya.

If Najib’s logic, “The government will not allow this because it would cause unhappiness, especially to the families of those who were killed during (the communist insurgency),” is applicable, he should have closed down the Japanese embassy and the British High Commision in this country. Because it would also cause unhappiness to many families of those who were killed during the anti-colonist war, including descendants of Maharaja Lela! Haha

Andrew Ong | May 27, 09 5:12pm

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today dismissed the possibility of exiled former Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) leader Chin Peng returning home.

chin peng and communist malaya“The government will not allow this because it would cause unhappiness, especially to the families of those who were killed during (the communist insurgency),” he said.

Najib was asked on the matter today during a quick seven-minute press conference at the Prime Minister’s Department today.

Democracy belongs to the people

On 18 June 2008, the Star published a comment piece under the title “Futile to protest against petrol and diesel hikes”. I wrote a response to that article, and emailed it to the editor of the Star, with a request that it be published either as an article or a letter to editor. I have followed up with 3 emails, but as at the time of writing have not received any reply. I assume that the Star has declined to publish it. My letter/article appears below. (Yeo Yang Poh)

The People’s participation is essential in a true
Democracy

I refer to the comment piece “Futile to protest against petrol and diesel hikes” by Mr V.K. Chin, published in The Star on 18 June 2008.

The main purpose of that article, as far as I can gather, is to impress upon readers that the recent fuel price hike is due solely to external factors, and that blame should not be placed on our present Government.

Below is my interview in The Star:

My ADUN: Teja

Constituency: Teja
Party position: Perak Deputy Information Chief of PKR Youth
Education: Bachelor of Civil Engineering
Profession: Full-time politician

FIRST-time Teja assemblyman Chang Lih Kang hopes to change the people’s perception about the role of an elected representative.

The 28-year-old Chang said the job of an elected representative was not only about taking care of “longkang tersumbat” (clogged drains) or “tampal jalan” (covering up potholes on the road). (more…)

The newly elected Selangor MB, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim stirred up a heated debate when he proposed to collect RM9 monthly from all migrant workers in the state. He claimed that the fund was aimed at setting up a fund to help provide re-training for local unemployed youths so they could land better jobs.

He said foreign workers living and working in Selangor enjoyed all the state’s infrastructure, like good schools, health facilities and roads and the state was just calling for them contribute something in return.

I beg to differ. (more…)

Al Jazeera gave a very good and precise news report on the 1110 BERSIH gathering. I must say the Al Jazeera journalist was lucky because he found himself in the middle of the melee, near Masjid Jamek. It is because the gathering was so huge, and none of us (who gathered at the Masjid Negara) was aware about the police brutality until our reporter friends told us later that day.

However, our (Mis)Information Minister, ZAM has shown his “kemaluan” to the world during his interview in Al Jazeera.

Trust me, he is damn embarrassing! Not only because he is “democratic-retarded”, but also the way he tried to distort facts. Zam is confirmed a liar, a big con-man! It is disastrous for the country to have a minister like him.

Nevertheless, he has provided me an opportunity to amuse my blog readers ;P I am learning to edit video clips, and this one is my first ever production. Enjoy ya!

When Rafiah Salim was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of UM, people were hopeful to see changes in the whilom premier university of the region. When she admitted that UM has much to do to regain its deteriorating position in the 2006 World Universities ranking, respects for her were further elevated.

However, a fox may grow grey but never good. Rafiah has shown her true colour after months of her appointment.

Few months ago, in the First Malaysian Student Leaders Summit, Rafiah was reported saying that “…public university students had the freedom to express their thoughts and ideas.” A blatant lie from the typical bureaucrat! Fortunately, her untruthful statement was answered rightly by boos and catcalls from the students.

The recently concluded campus election has once again proven that Rafiah is not “fit” to bring changes to the higher learning institution. She has miserably failed to ensure a fair and peaceful campus election by creating a level playing field for students from different factions. (more…)

To hound dogs who are “watching” this blog:

Initially I did not plan to put Namewee’s <Negarakuku> on my blog, because I do not agree in toto the content of the song, though I must say Namewee is a creative and talented young composer/artist.

However, I always advocate the noble principle of Voltaire – “I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.

Since some idiotic fellas thought they can shut people up by intimidating, I think we need to tell them in their face that this is not the way. Nazri Aziz, the laughing stock of the year, warned public not to republish Namewee’s Negarakuku, or he will take action against the blogger and youtube.

I am just wondering, what action is he going to take?

Lately, Najib stirred up a heated debate within the society on whether Malaysia is an Islamic state or a secular state. The deputy Prime Minister said Malaysia is an Islamic state, while some ministers said no. When it comes to Prime Minister’s turn, he says…… yes and no! Huh? What does it mean? Well, please don’t ask me, ask Dollah.

Compared to many politicians who simply talk because their mulut are gatal, Bar Council is way better. They substantiate their arguments (that Malaysia is not an Islamic State) with facts. One of the landmark cases that they have mentioned is Che Omar bin Che Soh v Public Prosecutor.

Who is this Che?
